All About JEE Main & Advanced 2019
All About JEE Main & Advanced : As the realm of technology is growing by leaps and bounds every year, engineering still remains a lucrative career choice for many high school students. In India, the JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) is the primary engineering entrance exam. It is required for admission to BE and BTech courses in IITs, NITs and other government and private engineering institutes across the country.
Earlier both AIEEE as well as IIT JEE exams used to be held. AIEEE was the entrance exam held by central government to invite admissions in various government colleges and some independent college funded by government. Whereas IIT JEE was an independent exam, conducted by the IITs and meant only for admission to courses in IITs. But since the past few years, everything has been combined into one qualifying examination known as JEE.
JEE comprises of two different examinations – JEE Mains & JEE Advanced. A student needs to clear JEE-Main, if he/she is willing to take admission in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), or any other college designated as “centrally funded technical institutes” (CFTIs). Then, students who clear JEE Mains are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. By clearing JEE-Advanced exam, you can take admission for reputed institutes like – Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
As per the new standards which is All About JEE Main & Advanced, class 12 board performance has gained supreme importance for getting admissions into the nation’s top engineering colleges including IIT. It has been decided that 40% weightage will be given to class 12 board performance, so that students do not give less focus to CBSE board exams. In order to breakthrough IIT, student must be in the top 20 percentile list of the respective class 12 board & must have cleared JEE Advanced exams in merit.
